The first successful cut proves that the geometry works. It does not prove that the piece feels good in a hand, hangs level, catches light well, or survives sanding at a narrow edge.
We keep the early versions. Their scorched corners and awkward proportions are useful records of the decisions hidden inside a quiet final object.
